Senior Staff Software Engineer – iTest Development Engineer
Position Description:
Spirent iTest® provides the necessary capabilities and multi-protocol support to accomplish simple feature testing, as well as sophisticated system and scenario testing. Here is an overview of how iTest works to build tests, add analysis, include powerful logic, create reports, as well as make tests portable and maintainable for “lights out” regression testing.

We are looking for a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join our Beijing, China team. The successful candidate will focus on iTest project and other automation product line.
Major Responsibilities:
· Ideal candidate will be a seasoned engineer who is able to work independently with a strong background in Java and eclipse plugin development.
· The candidate will be expected to co-ordinate architectural components with development teams and determining technical strategy to meet new product requirements and continued maintenance.
· The candidate will provide solutions and analysis for the most difficult design issues. Expected to make significant architectural and/or implementation contributions. Create alternative technology proposals and gain support for their use/deployment.
The candidate will lead the technical aspects of the projects and also contribute to projects as a senior developer. He/She will also be expected to provide accurate forecasts of work effort and to clearly communicate technical implementation risks and design trade-offs
Qualifications Desired:
Education:
B.Sc. /M.Sc. in Computer Science
Experience:
with 10+ years software development experience
8+ years developing in Java; one other major language expertise desirable;
4+ years of technical leadership experience
Skills:
· Solid experience in architecting and designing complex enterprise software
· Solid technical breadth, analytical skills and experience designing and implementing Eclipse plug-ins using SWT/JFace, EMF, GEF
· Must acquire expertise in all aspects of one or more product lines
· Talent for think outside of the box to evaluate multiple technologies and arriving at a sound design for extremely complex system-wide problems
· Successful history of working effectively with cross-functional and multi-location teams
· Ability to work in new areas, where roles and processes are not defined. Sets own directions, self-manages, and create rapid prototypes for new concepts.
· Experience working with management and executives in a distributed environment.
· Knack for persuading and influencing members outside of the team to ensure that goals are met
· Provide mentor and support for multiple engineers on the team.
· Excellent communication skills required.
· Fluent oral and written English is mandatory
