Software Architect
Beijing, China
The individual will take the lead and coordinate with the development engineering team, including hardware, embedded software, and network management in specifying the software system architecture and specific system requirements. This candidate will be responsible for writing the Software Architecture Design document, and High Level Design documents in certain key area. As well as participating in all software design reviews and system requirement reviews.
- A key contributor to the overall software engineering efforts and ensures that the overall software requirements and architecture are properly reflected and communicated to the development team
- Understands & delivers the system requirements documents and associated engineering specifications
- Owns specific requirement & architecture deliverables – works with the team lead to set the detailed system software requirements
- Is skilled & knowledgeable with the range of system level software capabilities, spanning the range from embedded software requirements to the network management system
- Interfaces and works directly with embedded, application and GUI software team members and other functional groups in the Digital Optical Network engineering team
- Works closely with marketing / product management to specify detailed requirements and ensure delivery of these documents in a timely manner, with appropriate level of detail.
- Ensures successful completion of all assigned software development tasks
The following requirements are expected for applicable candidates
- BS degree or higher in a communication, electronics, computer science or related majors
- 10 year or more of years with embedded, application and related software development experience
- Familiar with C/C++, software engineering and development processes
- Familiar with TCP/IP, SONET/SDH, Ethernet and related telecom and datacom protocols
- Comprehensive understanding of transport equipment such as SONET/SDH and WDM systems
- Familiar with network protocols like HTTP, FTP, TELNET
- Sound skills in reading, writing and oral English
- Good people skill, good at coordinating work among peers and interfacing with other functional groups, and a quick learner of new technologies and development areas
