The Role:
We are looking for an experienced, self-motivated, and results-driven director of software engineering to develop SaaS-based language learning applications. This position requires the candidate to design, develop, deploy, and maintain web applications. Driving the effective delivery of English language learning (ELL) applications will require the candidate to develop and maintain a high-quality engineering team and strong relationships with other departments.

软件开发总监的具体工作职责如下：
1. 有效管理公司的软件开发人员和QA团队，高质量地完成基于网络的英语学习软件的设计、开发、部署和维护；
2. 根据业务项目的优先级，安排软件开发部门的资源；
3. 建立和优化部门内部和部门间的工作关系和流程，加强工作效率和合作；
4. 培养软件开发人员，提高他们的工作能力，使他们得到成长；
5. 充分利用公司的核心技术和最新的网络软件技术，提升公司软件开发的质量和效率。
Job Description:
As a Director of Software Engineering for Saybot, your responsibilities will be to:
1. Manage a group of software engineers and QA staff to design, develop, deploy, and maintain high quality web-based English language learning (ELL) software.
2. Allocate engineering resources to complete company’s technical projects according to these projects’ priorities.
3. Establish and refine various intradepartmental and interdepartmental protocols and policies to ensure effective engineering productivity and management.
4. Coach team members to help them grow and improve their performances.
5. Improve both the quality and efficiency of software development by leveraging Saybot core technology development and other new web technology.
职位要求：
1. 计算机、软件工程或电子工程专业，本科以上学历；
2. 优秀的编程能力（面对对象语言和脚本语言）；
3. 优秀的GNU/Linux服务器管理能力；
4. 5年以上软件设计、开发、部署经验；
5. 2年以上的软件开发管理经验；
6. 很强的责任心和主动精神；
7. 拥有卓越的分析能力，沟通能力和管理能力；
8. 良好的中英文能力。
Job Requirements:
1. BS/MS in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent;
2. Excellent programming skills in both object-oriented languages (C++ or Java) and scripting (Ruby on Rails or PHP);
3. Practical knowledge of GNU/Linux server administration
4. 5+ years of experience in software design, development, and deployment.
5. 2+ years of experience in software development management.
6. High level of accountability and strong initiative.
7. Good analytical, communication, and management skills.
8. Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin Chinese
