Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the metallurgical Products Sales Manager (MPSM) will be primarily responsible and accountable for the further sales and profitability of finished refractory products by Minelco Tianjin Minerals Ltd (MTM).
MTM is a leading supplier of Slag Darts to the Steel Industry and it is the intention to expand the product portfolio specifically within the field of refractory products utilising the considerable expertise already available within the Minelco Group.
The successful applicant will ideally possess considerable experience and knowledge in the technical application of refractory products in primary and secondary steel making in addition to the following attributes:
• Good command of both written and spoken English
• Willingness to adopt a “hands on” approach to demonstrate installation and successful application of products.
• Dynamic, professional, ambitious, good communicator, self motivated and well organised.
Responsibilities in the broadest sense are as follows:
• Sales development for refractory products in line with forecasts (revenue and profit) that will be agreed with the Managing Director.
• Maintenance and development of MTM’s current business, through visits, meetings, telephone calls, e-mails etc.
• Attendance at periodical company management meetings, sales meetings and business review meetings within the company / group. Provision of reports, sales performance data and presentations within these meetings.
• Provision of reports within the company i.e. visit reports, sales forecasts.
• Ensuring that the sales (within the responsibility) meet or surpass forecast requirement.
• Ensuring that profitability (within the responsibility) is in line with company, and group expectations, forecasts and guide lines. Profitability will be measured by both product and customer.
• Agreement of objectives with the Managing Director and participation into personal performance appraisals.
To comply with the responsibilities mentioned above the MRP will receive strong support from colleagues within the company and group and will call upon key personnel in areas such as commercial, production, quality and technical whenever such support is required.
The majority of the sales within the area of responsibility will be Mainland China. However it is anticipated that the MPSM will have some involvement with overseas sales in the support of MTM products. Therefore some overseas travel may be necessary.
Importantly: it is expected that the MPSM will assist the company and group to develop, evolve and diversify, therefore it is anticipated that the MPSM will contribute to and suggest ideas for such development.
