The salary structure for expats in Japanese company is certainly very interesting, it helps alleviate jealousy among local employees while not comprimise Expat's financial reward. Does anyone know if such structure is used in American companies? If so, what is the typical structure? I know my company has not adopted such structure in the past, and I am trying to persuade HR to give it some thoughts. I just hope my salary figures will not show up in the local accounting system, you know there is no secrecy on such matter. Hostility in the local work environment certainly does not help the expat to achieve the original objective.
